Sixt Announces Seamless Connection from Train to Rental Car in Belgium and the Netherlands

•    New Sixt rental outlets at Brussels South railway station and Maastricht Central Station
•    Perfect connection to international train services such as Eurostar, Thalys and ICE International

Hoofddorp, Netherlands, 27 July 2009 – This month, Sixt, one of the leading car rental companies in Europe and an international provider of high-quality mobility services, opens two new rental outlets in Belgium and the Netherlands located directly within the grounds of the railway station. Train passengers getting off at Maastricht Central Station or Brussels South can immediately step into a Sixt rental car.

Last year, in addition to existing rental outlets near Rotterdam Central Station, Gent, St. Pieters and Utrecht Central Station, Sixt opened a rental outlet directly adjacent to Amsterdam Central Station, i.e. in the P1 car park at Prins Hendrikkade. A central location appears to be of vital importance for the Sixt customers. The decision to expand further and increase the efficiency of the network by opening Sixt outlets at Maastricht Central Station and Brussels South was a logical step to take. This way train passengers from France, England, Germany and the Netherlands travelling on Thalys, Eurostar and ICE International can easily find their way to the Sixt network.

Thomas Wolters, Managing Director of Sixt Benelux: “Despite the current tight market, we are showing courage by investing in selected new rental outlets. The previous opening of the Sixt branch at Amsterdam Central Station proved to be a success, a trend which we of course expect to continue with the opening of Sixt at Maastricht Central Station and certainly so with the rental outlet at the junction of international train services, the Brussels South railway station."
